How to Cope with Overeating during the Xmas Season

Let’s face it…you are going to do it.

Whether you’re entertaining your family at home or are eating out, you’re going to be faced with the most amazing spread of the yummiest foods ever. So you ARE going to overindulge, and possibly on foods that are not so good for your digestive system, or that will simply overpower your system’s ability to cope.

So what can you do to counter the effects?

To help your digestive system function better, especially with an overload of food, you can take a Digestive Enzyme tablet or pill before, during or after your meal. This will just take off the pressure.

The Mineral Tissue Salt NatPhos (No 10), that works with your body’s acid balance, is my ultimate standby for times like these. It counters the overload of acid created in the stomach and in the body tissues when you consume foods that leave an acidic ash in your body, like meats, breads and sugars. You can even take it every 10 minutes if your symptoms are really bad, until they disappear. This includes acid reflux, burning sensation in the stomach, nausea, belching and wind.

I always used to give it to our son when he went to parties to counter the influx of sugar. It worked like a charm! He never got the sugar rush runaround urges and his skin didn’t break out afterwards.

If you’re worried about drinking too much wine or alcohol, remember to drink a glass of water for every glass of alcohol to help your system flush and just to make sure your liver is looked after well, take some Milk Thistle afterwards for a week to 10 days to detox and rebuild the liver cells.

So now you can keep these remedies and herbs handy and know that you can look after yourself when you need to when the best intentions in the world can’t keep you away from seconds, thirds…and LOTS of pudding!
